In Psalm 119, we read:
41-42 Let your love, God, shape my life
with salvation, exactly as you promised;
Then I’ll be able to stand up to mockery
because I trusted your Word.
Don’t ever deprive me of truth, not ever
Saint Paul was able to stand up to mockery because he trusted in Jesus - the Word of God. It is impossible to live the Christian life without the love of the Lord, without believing in his promises.
I, as a Christian, I believe that the Lord has been shaping my life, but I also believe that I have to pray as the psalmist:
Let your love, God, shape my life
because my life is not perfectly according to the Lord's will.
