In Psalm 119/Dalet, the psalmist is in trouble, perhaps is about to die, despite a life in God's way. He asks:
I grasp and cling to whatever you tell me;
God, don’t let me down!
In his suffering, he asks:
Help me understand these things inside and out
so I can ponder your miracle-wonders.
It reminds me a bit of the Job story. He wanted to understand why he was suffering, but the Lord lead him to ponder on his miracle-wonders. It is difficult to understand the Lord's ways in full detail, but the Lord asks that we trust in him.
