psalm 139: examine me

in Psalm 139 we read:

23-24 Investigate my life, O God,

    find out everything about me;

Cross-examine and test me,

    get a clear picture of what I’m about;

See for yourself whether I’ve done anything wrong—

    then guide me on the road to eternal life.

A cloud is light. The wind blows and the cloud goes where the wind sends. David asks the Lord to examine him in order to correct his sins. In a way, he wants to be like a cloud that is taken by the wind.
